i will be personal for a moment, that which is rarely visible here in lj….

perhaps some of you know, perhaps you do not……
but for the past 4+ months i have aggressively been seeking a job…..career…..whatever…..but to no avail.
i have come to the end of the rope, the cash flow = so to speak.

i have put in 100′s [yes that is what i said] of resumes and applications. of that, i have received about a 5% response on those and of that have had a 80% rejection rate???? (i have seriously considered the belief that i am blacklisted.)

i am insecure/weak/and wavering about what the hell is going down in this backasswards city, but it seems a college degree [go figure] and work experience mean little, if anything, anymore in this everlasting job search.

for those that may have not observed the concurrent pattern of increasing infringment upon your privacy during this process, i implore you to express your disdain for such.

in modern times you might assume one was advancing upon the presidential seat, even in an attempt at obtaining a mediocre job……..:

    examples?

    1) drug test
    2) personality profile test [psych test - "for a fucking job!?"]
    3) criminal background check
    4) employment background check (many are petty as fuck with this one at present)
    5) credit check (can someone please explain to me wtf, unless your in banking?)
    6) DMV check
    7) Reference checks 8) Educational background checks
    9) Character Background checks

With the amount of money these people/employers spend on their highly invasive/ridiculous/senseless (total lack of privacy in certain matters) “searches” they conduct, they could presumably save more money utilizing “trial and error” with hiring new employees.

    enough of my rant……

i need help with locating and/or attaining a job, SOON, and that is my plea, from me to you.
[if you are so kindly obliged]

What kind of job are you looking for?
It just seems that now a days no one really wants to hire someone with actual experience, so your degree and skills may be the thing theyre rejecting. Why? because they want to hire people they can work overtime and pay them $5 an hour, then fire them after a week or two, then hire another one. It saves them money. They dont want anyone coming in that may take their spot. Theres a lot of factors as to why you arent getting hired, and yeah, none of them are YOUR fault. Last job i applied for i past the tests 100% and my interview seemed to go well, then they sent me a letter in the mail rejecting me (fucking cowards) i later found out all my white friends who worked there got fired, and they replaced everyone with african americans. Turns out the new ownership was under african americans. So go figure…
Have ya tried anything besides what you already are good at? Maybe you should try go looking into taking some welding/iron work classes at a local community college. Bill was looking for a job around here for almost 8 months or some shit to do welding and finally he tons TONS of openings when he applied with companies in charlotte:) The people he’s with now are based in charlotte and have started him at $18.00 an hour just welding together step railings, so not too bad.
Skilled trades like that seem to be more open and wanting to hire now rather than the cubicle jobs.

not sure if you knew the circumstances of why my i was terminated from my last fuck job…..

    http://www.livejournal.com/users/audiomind/3677.html

since then i have recvd unemployment checks [that they recommended i pursue], that is until they appealed that matter AND WON?!?!? hence cutting my income to zero, even though i have busted my living ass to find work since.

later i will go into a big explanation on the current topic, but to put it bluntly they outright lied about the weapons and parking lot policy in the handbook, but “won” primarily bc the head human resources guy said that the policy existed beforehand.

BULLSHIT, for i even provided copies to the contrary [copies of specific pages in the handbook for which i was able to obtain] appeals person on the case, yet they still concluded that FCB was in the right? i provided pictures of the lot, building and the driveways up to the building. NOTHING. i even provided contradictory reports of what they said and did, IN THEIR OWN HAND WRITING, to the appeals mediator. they still “won”.

i am now in the process of [without a lawyer] pursuing information on the matters of the case and the specifics of filing for the case, so that i can sue.

in the meantime i have bravely and continuously been researching as much as i can about the north carolina statutes and general assembly and all the like.

if that previous rambling made little sense, read the link i provided and then come back to this again.

    peace luv…..

Yeah it makes sense. I dont blame you for having a gun in your car. This incident happened right after the 9-11 shit though, right? so everyones got thier panties in a fucking knot accussing anyone and anything around them. *sigh*
What a crock of shit, and yeah they SHOULD have taken into consideration how long youve been there and have been a decent employee. I also could have sworn that it wasnt a cops right to search someones car unless they have seen YOU actually do something wierd and made yourself look suspicious. Just because your car door is open does NOT mean they have a right to go in and fucking open your glovebox and look under the seats. I once got out of trouble before practicing that right. Some cop pulled me over and said he had to search my car because he believed i had bought something from the liquor store (?!) He did find a unopened bottle of mad dog, but i told him my brother had left it in there, i still got in trouble, but my lawyer brought it up in court that the cop didnt give me a breathalizer, the bottle was unopened, and he DIDNT have any right to search my car because i never even was at the liquor store that nigt. I got it dropped off my record:)
Ya really should look into that, i mean yeah, you had a concealed weapon, that IS punishable unless you have a liscense to have it, but the cop had no right to search the car in the first place. You should try and talk to a lawyer about having that dropped off your record BEFORE you go abouts sueing your company, because its actually worse looking for you to have the fact known you went after a company like that than it is for them to see in your record you won a case against a cop.
You probably should just go ahead and look for a job outside of that kind of world for now. Bill works with drug addicts a murderers. I dont think theyd care if they found out you had a gun in your car lol.
Im sorry this kind of crap had to happen to you. It seems like companies with big $$$ always win in the end, and they probably fucking do. I havent been able to get a job since i told the owner of blockbuster video that i wasnt going to go into work until he payed me in full, all of the money he unrightfully cut from my paycheck. Owners of shops dont wanna hire people who fight for thier rights i suppose. gee ya think?
ya know if you apply to work at food lion they make you sign a contract that says you promise you will never join a workers union. How fucked up is that?! hahaha. thats actually against the law, too. I should bring that up..
    hey now im rambling..
okay but yeah, i wish you luck if you decide to persue the issue & if you never get a job, you can always start your own business:)

    just so you know…..

the guy that illegally [and without cause or warrant] searched my vehicle was a RENT-A-COP hired by FCB……not a REAL police officer. it was he who found my weapon and he who called the police.

i do have a license to conceal btw…..[though i believe such is fucking ridiculous and only an unconstitutional precursor to registering guns+gun owners....]

i wasn’t charged with anything for this, for i did nothing wrong. [i believe you might think i was]

further, i have also pursued other jobs of various interest and disciplines, not just the field i have been familiar with, but still to no effect.

i am about to head down to domino’s to see if they need a delivery driver……[will that be extra pepperoni, sir?]

see what a degree and experience get you in this world? (all the book knowledge in the world doesn’t make one “economically marketable”…..or viable for that matter).

i wanna know where all these supposed jobs the administration keeps clucking about, that are supposedly so readily and easily available?
seems me and everyone i know [in various states] haven’t realized the existence of such proclamations.

    ps…..
it takes capital, investment and direct expertise to start your own business. (well actually to make a profit from said business.) my problem is that i am not an expert at anything, but have general knowledge of a great many things. damn a.d.d. and all its implications.

Can you learn how to do things pretty well, though? Seriously look into welding, im not joking. And no, welding isnt hard as fuck back breaking construction, but you WILL get burns on your arms and hands.
Hey and dominos might not be so bad, i had a buddy who payed his rent & bills…oh wait..he also sold drugs nevermind.
