The problem with society is that you have too many preconceived ideas of love and romance according to Hollywood. Our young’ns ever greater influence by pop culture is heavy in forming your ideas of sexuality, relationships, etc……
Methinks men and women do not understand the basic fundamental differences of one another. You are so hung up on the term “equality” that you don’t seem to comprehend or realize that people can be equal and different at the same time. I think sometimes your relationships are more about “being” the right person than “finding” the right person. Of course there are many exceptions, but I see too many people who are lonely because they are searching for some ‘perfect’ person to make them happy.
Perfection has never existed just as happiness is rightly a way of traveling and not someplace to “find” nor a place that the responsibility lies with another to create.
Too many of you approach your relationships with your foot out helping your partners to trip rather than your hand out to lift them when they fall.
Unfortunately and ultimately it is your spirit that suffers from such mistakes…..not only by the tangible fallout, but by the ‘filing’ away of docile material in your brain to be used in relationships later in life.
I should know……I denied myself the simple yet complex pleasure of love for so long…….
