Complaints about CPCC teachers

perhaps it isn’t such an awful thing that teachers aren’t getting rewarded/paid as much nowadays, as much, that is, as they feel that they should…….[dont we all?]

……for the level of academic and communicative skills many possess [currently] is severely lacking in erudition and sufficient wisdom, at least compared to my experience of past endeavors/teachers when I attended high school and va. tech……

nowadays, everyone seems to claim that if you throw more money at the governmental installed education system ‘everything else’ will fall into place.

conceivably, the whole ‘process’ could be enhanced if we [particularly for those tax-payers who still have faith in governmental established schooling doctrine] required higher performance standards from the teachers, administrative personnel, aids and students!

for instance, i just paid almost $200 dollars [not including the book] to have a college teacher assume that the CSS/Dreamweaver MX book, with the accompanying study aids from course.com, should/will be the primary source to becoming skilled at website development this semester.

if I wanted you to recite the book and guides, line-for-line, what need would I have for you mr. Lard-Man?

Is this becoming the norm now, bc it sure increasingly feels like it…..principally in the last 2 years.

    Addressing the teacher doesn’t help.
Addressing the division heads doesn’t help.
Addressing the academic advisors doesn’t help.
Addressing the curriculum presidents doesn’t help.

Why do colleges charge more while performing less adequately?

all the while, my scholarship peddlers & financial aid keep questioning why I continue to drop classes and change curriculums…..since that might ‘harm’ my chances of receiving further assistance.

Btw, addressing my concerns to them doesn’t help either.

    i wonder why?

…teach me you fooking bastardz….i WANT to learn!

It’s not like that everywhere though. At GTCC only 1 out of 4 of my teachers relied on our book. She was a web design teacher, too… the music teachers were really nice and even took phone calls, office visits, and sometimes hung out with us in the studio for fun just to show us more stuff when class was over :)

I am 46 years old and self employed. I thought it would be a good ideal to go too CPCC to learn screen printing so i could teach my kids. I called the school to get the information i needed for the right class i was lied too however they had no problem taking my money first without giving me a student id to get in and out of builds and no student id too log ont too the computers in class. I made it too class my first day and the teacher said you signed up for the wrong class. I spent 2 hours in a class i did not need waiting for my ride. I had to go back too another campus too change classes and little did i know it was not that simple i had too deal with 5 people just too get a refund and change classes. I then went too the new class and the first day the teacher was very cocky and not concern with my questions more like i was a pain in the butt for trying to learn kinda like how dare you ask me a queston when i’m teaching. Keep in mind there was 5 people in the class. I was never given a code of conduct for the school. I also was told becasue it was the secound week there would be no refund even if i had not taken any full class over them two weeks. I felt race was a factor with the teacher because she spoke as too try and make me feel small as a person by her being so foward and lack of concern for my well being as a person to learn in her class. I did not ask to join the army just to try and improve my kids life and if teachers and the schools they teach in are more concern with money than the people they pay to teach and how they treat others willing to learn. they should close it down.
