As we transcend the various phases of our life, symbolized by the 12 zodiac signs [via the 12 months of the year], we are confronted with challenges that help us figure out how to successfully navigate our lives. And as we get older, we ask ourselves how to maintain our playful innocence, but also attain [maintain?] maturity. How we learn to navigate life, should manifest itself as a dance, not an onerous drudgery.

How can we cultivate this spontaneously joyful consciousness?

Our natural wisdom demonstrates to us that we have needs and that they are real. We can’t deny our needs. We don’t want to deny them. If we lie to ourselves, we lie to the universe. If we lie to the universe, we can’t manifest into something larger than ourselves or we manifest our being into something we don’t want.

We have to eliminate ‘limiting beliefs’ to discover our truth. As we revolutionize our attitudes and accept the subsequent transformation in our lives, we discover our power. It is time to examine what we are broadcasting out to the world and to the universe. It is time to alter our reality by altering our thoughts.

Within our primordial brains we act primarily upon primal reflexes. This is our instinctual animal nature. In our rational mind we think, analyze and discriminate. In our frontal cortex we have the capacity to connect with the ‘Universal Mind’. From the point of operation inside our primordial brain, we simply defend ourselves and do what we have to do to survive. In our logical brain we can identify alternatives and make choices. In our meditative mind it is possible to access a neutral point of view and to attract solutions unavailable to our lower minds.

To achieve the peace we all crave, we have to transcend these ancient mental conflicts.

To incorporate new associations and vistas into our reality, we have to examine our internal conversation. How are we talking to ourselves and to the Universe? How we talk is how we relate. How we relate determines what we create. It is no secret that our minds are generally in conflict. It is also apparent that we experience mass conflict in our lives.

Since our inner reality creates our outer reality, we need to seriously examine what our mind is doing, in view of the fact that inner conflict is a natural consequence of both our primal instinctual mind and our untamed dualistic mind.

To transcend the conflict, we have to access our neutral mind. In the neutral mind, duality transforms into polarity. Instead of a standoff or battle between right and wrong, this way or that way, we find a dance between the universal polarities of stable and fluctuating, eternal and evolutionary.

We also need to listen to what we are telling ourselves and then use these mantras to neutralize negative self-talk and encode a higher grade dialogue.

Listening, communicating and conveying our thoughts are a critical part of transforming our mind. We shouldn’t just mindlessly repeat our inner mantras; we must listen to the sounds they are making. We must feel the impact of their vibration in our body and we must listen to the freedom in our minds when we finish our inner ruminations. Listening helps shift our mental faculties to neutral. Training yourself to listen is an important part of cultivating and maintaining access to the neutral mind. And as you gain access to this channel, you certainly want to be able to hear its messages!

Last night me & master jedi bUnNy happened upon the local theatre [Crown Point] to catch Star Wars….Revenge of the Sith.

Being that the shathouse of a theatre was charging 8.50 to get in, I expected the BOOMING DOLBY SURROUND SOUND to knock me on my azz…….only to realize upon entering the actual ‘review room’ that their surround sound was either busted, extremely low or completely turned off? Although I informed them of such, the sound stayed the same throughout. [*frowns*]
I expect that to be the last time I go there….

Another nerdilicious review [among the many 1000s] of the movie is forthcoming, remarking on the good and the bad.

Someone help me out here, if anyone actually takes time to translate this journal…….

Are CrownPoint, the cheap $1 theatre on Hwy.74, AMC Theatres at Concord Mills and South Blvd [in Charlotte] the ONLY FREAKING THEATRES in Charlotte?

Even as children they were late sleepers, < ?xml:namespace prefix = o ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:office" />

Preferring their dreams, even when quick with monsters,

To the world with all its breakable toys,

Its compacts with the dying;

From the stretched arms of withered trees

They turned, fearing contagion of the mortal,

And even under the plums of summer

Drifted like winter moons.

Secret, unfriendly, pale, possessed

Of the one wish, the thirst for mere survival,

They came, as all extremists do

In time, to a sort of grandeur:

Now, to their Balkan battlements

Above the vulgar town of their first lives,

They rise at the moon’s rising.  Strange

That their utter self-concern

Should, in the end, have left them selfless:

Mirrors fail to perceive them as they float

Through the great hall and up the staircase;

Nor are the cobwebs broken.

Into the pallid night emerging,

Wrapped in their flapping capes, routinely maddened

By a wolf’s cry, they stand for a moment

Stoking the mind’s eye

With lewd thoughts of the pressed flowers

And bric-a-brac of rooms with something to lose, –

Of love-dismembered dolls, and children

Buried in quilted sleep.

Then they are off in a negative frenzy,

Their black shapes cropped into sudden bats

That swarm, burst, and are gone.  Thinking

Of a thrush cold in the leaves

Who has sung his few summers truly,

Or an old scholar resting his eyes at last,

We cannot be much impressed with vampires,

Colorful though they are;

Nevertheless, their pain is real,

And requires our pity.  Think how sad it must be

To thirst always for a scorned elixir,

The salt quotidian blood

Which, if mistrusted, has no savor;

To prey on life forever and not possess it,

As rock-hollows, tide after tide,

Glassily strand the sea.

My internal organs held a Q&A panel discussion last week, and I transcribed the most exciting five minutes of that conference………

Audiomind actually has a transcript of last week’s conference, which was held on some health and body maintenance issues. The meeting was headed up by the testicles, speaking on behalf of the penis, which is generally in charge of everything.

Participants include the lungs (on behalf of the respiratory system), the kidneys (speaking for the urinary system), the heart, (circulatory system head) with a special appearance by the brain (whose usefulness in any context has yet to be determined)……….

…….and den………

Testes: Okay Organs, let’s bring this meeting to order. If anyone has something on his or her proverbial mind, now’s the time to bring it up.

Lungs: I’m having a lot of trouble dealing with the inhalation of carbon monoxide, as a result of the host body’s addiction to smoking [& ‘others’]. What can be done about this?

Kidneys: I’m also having a problem, regarding the host’s predilection for copious amounts of alcohol [& ‘others’].

Heart: I must say I’ve got a lot on my plate due to both of these things.

Brain: Did anybody watch The Revenge of the Sith last night?

All: SHUT UP

Heart: Mister Grey Matter, this is your entire fault you know. Why do you allow these filthy things inside? What have you got to gain from it?

Lungs: I second that.

Brain: Wait, what are we talking about?

Testes: Look here buddy don’t get smart with me!

Brain: S . . M . .A . . R . . T?

Kidneys: Who the fuck are you, Homer Simpson?

Brain: I like the Simpson’s! They’re funny!

Heart: *murmur*….Let’s get on with this, please?

Kidneys: No, let’s not hold back, let’s try and process this. I think we’ve raised an important issue here, that of the usefulness of this so called “Brain”.

Lungs: *sigh*

Brain: This isn’t fair! You’re all ganging up on me! This is just like on The Revenge of the Sith when the Storm Troopers slaughtered…..

Lungs: I vote for the removal of the Brain from the panel.

Testes: Fuck that, I say we remove it altogether.

Brain: NO! NOOO!!! THE SEQUEL TO ‘THE DARK CRYSTAL’ IS JUST ABOUT TO START!!………

Testes: All in favor?

Kidneys: Aye.
Lungs: Aye.
Heart: Aye.

Brain: What do I say, what do I say?

Heart: Just say aye, like a pirate.

Brain: Aye, aye, cap’n!

Testes: Well, it’s unanimous. You’re out Brain.

Brain: Are you thinking what I’m thinking, Pinky? ["Only the brain deals in absolutes."]

Testes: DON’T CALL ME PINKY!

After this the meeting broke down into mindless squabbling. The brain was removed and spends its days thinking about where it ever went wrong.

[where this stuff comes from, Audiomind does not recall?]

A Study Presenting the Failures of Pre-School Teachers

Pre-K Students Expelled at More Than Three Times the Rate of K-12
Students

http://fcd-us.org/

Let me guess…….? Once again they will blame it on funding and parents, rather than the fact that pre-school teachers are highly unqualified to help develop the ‘crucial stages’ of a young child’s mind, while they become more accustomed to [and a ‘functioning part’ of] the society they were born into?

There are some aspects of musical beauty that are objective, but I’ll be damned if I could ever point to them and say what they are precisely, without bias. However, I definitely don’t believe that musical beauty has anything to do with certain intervals within music. It primarily has to do with an intelligent being communicating with another intelligent being, though I’m not entirely sure ‘beautiful’ is the appropriate word……..maybe ‘eloquent’ would be better.

Recently some kids told me how much they were into Cream, even though I haven’t listened to those guys in at least 10 years. Nonetheless, when I listened to the CD I was really struck by the significance of it. You can’t help but be drawn into it.

Good music seems to have this great equilibrium for being engaging, pleasing (not in the sense of perfect intervals but more in the sense of interrelatedness to what you like or need at the moment), with a type of unexpectedness that causes the music to seem larger than it appears or makes you believe in a manner that you hadn’t before, as well as taking you (and/or your thinking) in a direction that didn’t exist before.

(Often, I feel like contemporary composers try much too hard, like they feel as if they have to reinvent the wheel or something. It’s quite the lackluster event when I watch artists burden themselves so unnecessarily with such HIGH ideals, only then to endeavor on making other people think IT’S important.)

Taking people in a whole different direction doesn’t have to be donE in a big way, it can easily be accomplished in some small intricate, but subtle ways.
