It's always fun to watch philosophy, psychology, and physics argue about things that are barely linked to any of the 3...

And I don't claim to be a physicist, but if the observations are giving conflicting evidence, then I'd say there's a problem with the observation methods (as far as photons go)

And in the psychological realm, considering what we can extrapolate from a person's childhood, as related to their future career choices or emotional quirks... I'd have to say that in a psychological sense, free will is ultimately cause and effect.

This goes off into whole other philosophical tangents, but I think it's rather dubious to start arguing photons in regards to this particular discussion...

Free will is just one of those things that, even if it does exist, you couldn't possibly define what it is or how it works, or why it exists, or any other thing about it. It lacks all descriptive properties and there is a complete inability to even quantify any of its mechanics.

And yet, all of the actions we take CAN be explained in the cause/effect mechanical/chemical sense with great accuracy and relative ease.

My powers of logic might be WAY off... But I'd think myself a fool to give the prize of authenticity to magical free will over mechanical/biological free will.
