I've been thinking about this for the last few days, and I'm very interested in hearing more of what you have to say on this specific subject. The concept of duty to self and duty to the whole/something bigger/government is something I strive to reconcile in my head a lot, and you posed the question beautifully.

If ultimately my answer is that I own me, I have a question of how the government gets money for providing services such as healthcare or roads or police without some sort of mandatory payment system, or if it is expected to be provided by donation, and how the reliability of either system is expected to fare in the long run.

But obviously, that's a different question, but it's the first thing that comes to mind if I ultimately make the decision that I own me, and nobody else, and I still want the police and healthcare and roads and education, without giving the government some sort of profitable enterprise, which ultimately gives them monopolies, blah blah blah... etc... etc...

Anyway, I'm really interested in hearing more about what you have to say on the subject, so please don't hesitate to post more on the subject.
