The copyrighted status of “Happy Birthday To You” and the law related to the public performance of copyrighted works have both recently been brought to my attention. I would therefore like to request permission in advance to sing “Happy Birthday” to my son at CHUCK-E-CHEESE’s in Charlotte, NC, on March 14, 2006 at approximately 4:20pm.
My son will be turning 6 on this day and we will probably be ordering a cake and pizza to celebrate his life. The rest of the party will include the Warblettes, Jasper T.
